 One of the key differences in the experience that you receive at Reach for the Stars Nursery, is that the staff recognise and value the importance of parental engagement within the early years of your child’s life. All children deserve the best possible start, therefore, its vitally important that we work as a team to ensure that your child is kept at the centre of everything that we do. We recognise that being a parent is extremely rewarding, however, we also recognise that it can be hard work and sometimes challenging. 

 The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life. Foundation years Website 

 This document is a non-statutory guide to support practitioners. It can be used by childminders, nurseries and others, such as Ofsted, throughout the early years as a guide to making best-fit judgements about whether a child is showing typical development for their age, may be at risk of delay or is ahead for their age. Foundation years Website 

 This guide has been developed with parents. An overwhelming want from parents was that this guide would be available electronically. Therefore it has been designed to be accessed electronically but also as a downloadable printed copy.
